This act with the full title “An Act to Amend the Adoption of Children Acts 1964 to1967 in certain particulars”(Act no.17/1972) amends the Adoption of Children Act 1964 and its amendments up to and including 1967. The primary focus of this amendment is on the guardianship of children awaiting adoption, penalties for interference with the adoption of a child by its biological parents and changes to the description of the jurisdictions where adoptions of children from Queensland may occur. For example in New Zealand. This amendment was repealed by the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (No.2) 1994 also known as Act no.87 on the 1st of December 1994.
