Harold Lodge

Harold Lodge was established at Ingleburn around 1984 by Sydney City Mission as a family group home. Sydney City Mission changed to Mission Australia in 1996. In 2004 Harold Lodge provided mediation, long term accommodation and supportive intervention to homeless youth aged 14-18. In 2013 Mission Australia still managed Harold Lodge.

Clifton Lodge

Clifton Lodge was established around the 1970s by Sydney City Mission as a residential youth service. It was in North Sydney. Sydney City Mission changed to Mission Australia in 1996. By 2004 Clifton Lodge had become an early intervention service, Clifton Youth Services.

Ladd House

Ladd House, run by Dr Barnardo’s in Australia, opened in 1966 at Normanhurst. It operated as a family group home for older girls. Ladd House opened on the same site that Green Wood had previously been on. It closed in 1976.

Fairfax House

Fairfax House, run by Dr Barnardo’s in Australia, opened in 1966 at Normanhurst. It operated as a family group home for older boys. It opened on the same site that Green Wood had previously been on. Fairfax House closed in 1976.

Illawong

Illawong was established by Dr Barnardo’s in Australia in 1962 in Wollongong. It was operated as a family group home for British child migrants and could accommodate 12 children. It closed in early 1975 due to a lack of demand. Barnardos purchased ‘Hi Wi Lodge’ in Hillview Avenue to be a family group home. Illawong…
