A mass breakout at Westbrook Farm Home brought attention to the brutal conditions endured by the boys 60 years ago this May.
On Monday November 16, it will be 11 years since the National Apology to Forgotten Australians
Eight years ago on 17 June 2008 the Premier of South Australia the Hon M.D. Rann moved a motion in Parliament for an apology to the South Australian child victims of abuse while in State Care. Two years later four giant steel daisies bloomed in Peace Park, Adelaide with the unveiling of a Memorial honouring these children.

Six years ago today, the Australian Parliament issued an apology to Forgotten Australians and Former Child Migrants. Six years is a long time – in Canberra alone, so much has changed since that day in November, 2009.
