Earlier this year, 16 organisations were funded to make records more accessible to Care Leavers through the RAD2 (Records Access Documentation) Grants Program. In February, the RAD2 team delivered workshops to successful applicants.

The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services has just completed its biggest ever records management project. Finding Records is a new website that allows users to find, read, download and print detailed guides to the collections of historical paper-based records related to former Victorian wards of the state and care leavers.

This document is a landmark step in the ongoing implementation of the recommendations made in the Senate’s 2004 ‘Forgotten Australians’ report.
