Roberts Cottage was a cottage style Home that was part of the Methodist Church run Children's Home at penfolds Road, Magill, known as Lentara. Roberts Cottage was used as accommodation for young children and was sometimes also known as the 'Toddlers Home'. It opened in 1964 replacing the building known as Roberts Home which was badly damaged in the 1954 Adelaide earthquake. The original building was demolished and this new Cottage was built ten years later on the same site.
Although Lentara ceased to operate in 1977, with much of its property at Magill being subdivided and sold, two cottage homes continued to operate. These included Minnie Maughan Cottage and Roberts Cottage. Roberts Cottage did not close until the mid-1980s. It was the last of Lentara's cottage homes Homes at Magill site to close.
